Mercer Stage 4 Construction Traffic Flow

Valley Street officially closed for construction last week. The Seattle Department of Transportation has released this map to help understand the current closures and traffic flow. You can view it in full on their website, as well as a version for bikes and pedestrians.

As always, please contact them directly with any construction related questions.

Facebook is Important: Like or Share if you Agree - Adam Rosenberg's Presentation

Adam Rosenberg shared this presentation with us at our March SLU Chamber breakfast.

“Facebook Is Important: Like or Share if you agree” discusses the depth of Facebook as both a platform and a key component to every digital strategy. It gives an overview of how Facebook’s various elements (organic, paid, app build/site integration) can be leveraged to optimize your social strategy both on and off the platform. It goes through key Facebook product updates that you may (or may not) have known about like Graph Search, the new News Feed, etc. and how these impacts brands.
Thank you, Adam, for the excellent presentation! We'd also like to thank Vulcan, Inc. and Daniel's  for sponsoring and hosting the event.

Only In Seattle - Business Owner Survey

Impact Capital and Hui Ge  are conducting a survey to evaluate the roles and values of Seattle’s chambers of commerce. Your input is important for them to improve chambers’ services and better serve businesses’ needs. The following is a message from them and a link to this survey.

The Only In Seattle Initiative – a partnership between Seattle’s Office of Economic Development (OED) and Impact Capital that promotes healthy business environments for neighborhood business districts - and Hui Ge (a graduate student at University of Washington’s Evans School of Public Affairs) are conducting a research study about the role chambers of commerce play in economic and neighborhood business development.   Seattle has a unique community of chambers of commerce and this study will help us to better understand the various functions of chambers of commerce.  Impact Capital and OED may use the research to tailor Only In Seattle Initiative’s technical assistance and incentives to promote inclusive and sustainable neighborhood business districts.  A portion of the research involves a business owner survey (below).  We may, also, contact you directly for a staff or board member interview.  Participation in all aspects of this study is voluntary.

We are asking you now to please distribute the electronic survey to business owners from your community contact list (either chamber members or non-members).  The survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete. There are no risks associated with participating in this study.  The survey collects no identifying information of any respondent.  All of the responses in the survey will be recorded anonymously.  We will appreciate it if you can distribute the survey by the end of March.

If requested, we will share our findings from this study with your board or staff.  The findings will also be presented on June 12, 2013 during the Evan’s School Public Service Clinic’s Presentation Day.

If you have any questions regarding the survey or this research project in general, please contact Hui Ge or Beth Dufek at Impact Capital.

Your help and support is greatly appreciated.
